Redirections by Rank Math — Плагин для WordPress

The Most Advanced Redirections plugin for WordPress

★★★★★

One of the most painful parts of managing a growing website is to manage its redirects. The seemingly simple process of directing a URL to another is not so simple to achieve. You need a decent understanding of code and then make changes to your .htaccess (or .conf file) file to achieve the mundane, but important task of creating redirects.

To ease all of these problems and allow anyone to create and manage redirects, we created Redirections. It’s a simple and powerful plugin that will help you create, edit, and manage your redirects, thus empowering you to grow your website. It features an easy to use interface, supports all the important types of redirects, and even lets you edit your redirects whenever you wish.

The process of redirection is simple and straightforward, but there are many creative uses of redirection that are very useful. Here are some of the use-cases that you can use Redirections for.

  • Redirect Old URLs to New Ones
If you change or move content on your website, you’ll need to redirect the old URL to the new one if you want to retain the rankings of the page.

  • Create Your Own URL Shortener
If you regularly share your URL in places where readability is important, then you can create a short URL of the page specifically for sharing and redirect it to the main page. This technique is regularly used by podcasters to share URLs of the posts that they discuss.

  • Moving Your Website
When you move your website to a new domain name, it is absolutely critical to redirect all the URLs from the old domain to the new one. A redirect manager helps immensely in this case.

  • Update Your URLs
If you update your old content and change the URL to reflect the changes, you will need to create a redirect from the old URL to the new URL.

  • Create Clean Affiliate Links
A regular affiliate link is a mess of tracking codes and variables which looks ugly and intimidating. By creating a redirect, you can create a pretty URL for your affiliate links.

  • Manage Temporary Redirects

Updating a piece of content and don’t want visitors to see it? Create a temporary redirect to a new page in the meantime.

  • Comply with the Law
If you host some content that cannot be displayed to a certain group of people for any legal reason, you can redirect those people to an error page, or a page explaining the restriction.

  • Run Limited Time Offers
Running offers for a limited time? Create a redirect to another page after the offer expires.

And many more….

Unique Features of Redirections

Redirections is equipped with all features imaginable to fix broken links and errors. It can help you fix individual errors, preemptively create redirects, and use some regex magic to migrate entire websites. Basically, you can use it to solve simple problems or unleash its power to handle complex redirects, and it can handle it all. Here is the complete list of features built-into the Redirection Plugin.

  • Simple and Intuitive Interface
Redirections is amazingly simple to use. There are no confusing menus, and no codes to deal with. You can create redirects visually, easily, and in just a couple of clicks. Even if you’re new to WordPress, you will have no trouble understanding and using Redirections.

  • Lightweight and Fast
Creating a redirect should be fast, and the Redirect Manager manager fits the definition perfectly. No matter how complex the redirect, you can configure it easily in just a few easy steps.

  • Secure
A considerable amount of man-hours were invested in making Redirections ultra-secure. Our dedicated team of experts designed hundreds of tests before we decided to release Redirections to the public.

  • Supports Multiple Redirection Types
There are multiple types of redirections, and each one is useful in a certain scenario. It is important to choose the right type of redirection to guide search engines and users to the most appropriate content. That is why Redirections supports many types of redirections. Here are some details.

    • 301 Permanent Redirection
The 301 Redirect is the standard for permanent redirection. When you’re creating a redirect to another URL permanently, you should use 301 Redirection code.

    • 302 Temporary Redirect
If you need to redirect a URL temporarily to another URL, you should use the 302 Temporary Redirect option.

    • 307 Temporary Redirect
The 307 is another temporary redirect and is similar to a 302 redirect, but with some technical differences. To explain it simply, when the search engines see a 307 redirect, they don’t cache it. That means if a request is made for the URL again, the search engines won’t go to the destination URL automatically and check the source URL again to see if the redirect is still in place.

    • 410 Content Deleted
If you’ve deleted a piece of content and have no suitable replacement for the content, you should not blindly redirect it to your home page. Instead, you should serve a 410 Content Deleted which will tell the search engines to naturally de-index the content.

    • 451 Content Unavailable For Legal Reasons
Not technically a redirect, but useful nevertheless. The 451 Content Unavailable is useful when there are legal reasons for blocking a piece of content. The legal reasons can be copyright, privacy, blasphemy, or any other law or court order.

  • Multiple Matching Methods
There are simple redirects which are easy to create and then there are complex redirects which are not so easy to understand, create, or manage. The Redirect Manager does a terrific job at making all redirects types simple to implement and manage with the various matching methods. Here are the supported matching methods.

    • Exact Match
Exact matching works exactly as it sounds. It redirects a URL if it matches the URL you entered exactly.

    • Contains
The Contains matching redirects any URL which contains the phrase you enter. For example, if you enter ‘press,’ then URL containing ‘wordpress’ will also be redirected.

    • Starts With
Redirects URLs only if it starts with a particular phrase.

    • Ends With
Redirects URLs only if it ends with a particular phrase.

    • Regex Support
The Redirect Manager fully supports Regex, using which you can create the most complex redirections possible. Regex is very useful when you’re making large changes to your website, and a lot of URLs matching strict rules have to be redirected to a new URL.

    • Combination of all of the Above
An amazing feature of the Redirection Manager is that you can use all of these rules together. That means you can create several conditions using any of the matching URLs and redirect them to a single destination URL. Using this feature, you can create the most complex redirects with ease. Not only that, you’ll be able to edit and manage this redirect later on with the same ease as well.

Bulk Operations

An underrated feature of the Redirection Manager is the bulk redirection creation feature. Let us explain that with an example. Usually, if you have 10 URLs that you need to redirect to a new URL, you have to create individual redirect rules for them. This is inefficient and wastes a ton of time.

In the Redirection Manager, the process is completely opposite. Here, you just copy all the URLs at the same time and paste it in the redirection URL field. The Redirection Manager will detect that you’ve pasted multiple URLs and create individual entries for each of them

. What’s even better is that you can configure each of the entries with any of the matching methods we’ve mentioned above. After you’ve done that, you can create more entries to the redirect manually as you would normally do. This flexibility gives you a lot of power and speed when you’re creating redirects.

Advanced Options

Apart from creating and managing redirects, we’ve included some advanced options in the Redirection Manager which will help you diagnose issues and overall help with the administration of your site. Here are some of the options.

  • .htaccess Export
With this feature, you can export all your redirects in a single file that can be added to a .htaccess file. This is a useful feature when you’re migrating sites or copying your redirects to another website that uses an Apache server.

  • Nginx Export
The Redirection Manager can also export all your redirects to an Nginx server compliant file. This feature is useful when you’re moving or copying your redirects to a website that uses the Nginx server.

  • Debug Mode
This is one of the most important features of the Redirection Manager. When you’re fixing a couple of 404 errors, then the repercussions of making a mistake are small. However, if you’re creating a redirect rule that will affect thousands of URLs, you have to be absolutely sure that your configuration is 100% correct. To help with this process, we’ve included a debug mode inside the Redirection Manager.

Once enabled, any redirect that happens on your website will be interrupted by an interstitial page. The page will display the source URL (that is being redirected) and the destination URL (where the redirection is taking you). The interstitial pauses the redirect for 5 seconds, after which the redirect takes place. However, you can pause the redirect entirely for diagnosis. The interstitial page also contains links that will take you to the specific URL that triggered the redirection, helping you diagnose misconfigured redirects in a jiffy.

Please note that the interstitial page is visible only to administrators of the website, and the end users will not be affected at all with this. Also note that all active redirects will work as usual while the administrator uses the debug mode as well, so the regular operation of your website is not affected in any way.

  • Extends the WordPress Auto Redirect
The Redirect Manager is stable, secure, and safe as it extends WordPress’s redirect functionality. Instead of creating complex redirect operations, the Redirect Manager uses the native redirection feature of WordPress and adds the layer of functionality that makes it possible to have a greater degree of control over the redirects that you create. Because of this architecture decision, the Redirection Manager is also future-proof and has negligible chances of causing issues with WordPress updates.

How To Supercharge the Redirection Plugin

The Redirection Plugin is pretty awesome and a great stand-alone plugin. But, to fix a problem, you have to find the problem, which in this case is mostly broken links.

Usually, you’d have wait for Google to completely crawl your website, then log into your Google Search Console account and download a list of all the broken links and then start fixing them.

Or you’d have to install a plugin that will crawl your entire website for links and use all your server resources. Or you’d have to pay for a 3rd party to tool to do this job.

But, there is a better way! Just use our 404 Monitor plugin.

The 404 monitor is another plugin by Rank Math that captures all the 404 errors on your website. It records the URL, when it was last accessed, and how many times it was accessed. It can also capture the referred and user agent from the error occurred. Using all this information, you can instantly fix the problems that have the most impact.

That’s not all. The 404 Monitor and the Redirect Plugin work great together. When you install both the plugins, you can create redirects for all your error causing URLs in a single click. It works like magic!

If you enjoy using the Redirection Plugin and/or the 404 Monitor Plugin, then you must check out Rank Math SEO. It’s a game-changing FREE SEO plugin that has more features than many premium products. The 404 Monitor and the Redirections Plugin are included with Rank Math SEO, along with all the awesome features that are included in it. Make sure to check them out.

Is there a manual or knowledge base for this plugin?

Yes, here is the plugin full knowledge base http://www.clogica.com/kb/

This plugin2 big problems: 1) is redirecting everything , even thinks that they dont need redirection. 2) you cant exclude files , pages or photos from redirection.

I am trying to reach customer service to get access to my account so that I can submit a support ticket; however, HostGator is rejecting emails to info AT clogica DOT com stating there is, "No Such User Here." My organization uses this plugin extensively, but we are unable to find the user login and password under which it was originally registered. We are working on re-developing the site and need the information. If you can please help, that would be greatly appreciated. I am unable to call the phone number since it is in Palestine, so e-mail is the preferred means of communication. Thank you, kindly. WH

Plugin works great. Reached out to customer service with an issue and it was resolved within 24 hours.

Works well and the support is very attentive to requests, even for special cases. Problem resolved quickly.

If you understand the above title, you know how complicated a migration this was especially when I have 15 albums and 600 photos and videos! Seo-Redirection is the only plugin I found which could perform the task easily and has FOLDER level 301 Redirection! another amazing feature I didn't find with other plugins I was able to export all past 301 from Yoast and Redirection plugins into Seo-Redirectino plugin, so now everything is in one place and can even be exported out and backed up easily And now with the premium version I was surprised to discover 1300+ 404 errors on my site! currently my developer is busy fixing these with Seo-Redirection premium and expects the SEO rank to go up a couple of notches on page-1 of Google Bravo

Thanks a lot to the one who created this plugin has got me out of work

301 Redirects — Easy Redirect Manager — Плагин для WordPress

301 Redirects helps you manage and create 301 & 302 redirects for your WordPress site to improve SEO and visitor experience. With a user-friendly interface, 301 Redirects is easy to install and configure. Perfect for new sites or repairing links after re-organizing your existing WordPress content, or when your site has content that expires and you wish to avoid sending visitors to a 404 page.

301 Redirects GUI is located in WP Admin Dashboard — Settings — 301 Redirects

Features

  • Choose from Pages, Posts, Custom Post types, Archives, and Term Archives from dropdown menu
  • Or, set a custom destination URL!
  • Retain query strings across redirects
  • Super-fast redirection
  • Import/Export feature for bulk redirects management
  • Simple redirect stats so you know how much a redirection is used

What is a 301 Redirect?
A redirect is a simple way to re-route traffic coming to a Requested URL to different Destination URL.

A 301 redirect indicates that the page requested has been permanently moved to the Destination URL, and helps pass on the Requested URLs traffic in a search engine friendly manner. Creating a 301 redirect tells search engines that the Requested URL has moved permanently, and that the content can now be found on the Destination URL. An important feature is that search engines will pass along any clout the Requested URL used to have to the Destination URL.

When Should I use 301 Redirects?

  • Replacing an old site design with a new site design
  • Overhauling or re-organizing your existing WordPress content
  • You have content that expires (or is otherwise no longer available) and you wish to redirect users elsewhere
  • 301 Redirects admin area
  • 301 Redirects import/export options
  1. Upload the eps-301-redirects folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  3. Begin adding redirects in the Settings -> 301 Redirects menu item

I’m getting an error about the default permalink structure?

301 Redirects requires that you use anything but the default permalink structure.

My redirects aren’t working

This could be caused by many things, but please ensure that you are supplying valid URLs. Most common are extra spaces, extra slashes, spelling mistakes and invalid characters. If you’re sure they’re right, chances are your browser has cached the 301 redirect (in an attempt to make the redirection faster for you), but sometimes it doesn’t refresh as fast as we would like. Clear your browser cache, or wait a few minutes to fix this problem.
My redirects aren’t working — the old .html page still shows
For this plugin to work, the page must be within the WordPress environment. If you are redirecting older .html or .php files, you must first delete them. The plugin can’t redirect if the file still exists, sorry! You should look into .htaccess redirects if you want to keep these files on your server.

My redirects aren’t getting the 301 status code

Your Request or Redirect URLS may be incorrect; please ensure that you are supplying valid URLs. Check slashes. Try Viewing the page by clicking the Request URL — does it load correctly?

How do I delete a redirect?

Click the small X beside the redirect you wish to remove.

How do I add wildcards. or folder redirects?

Unfortunately this is not supported. You should look into .htaccess redirects for these advanced features.

What about query strings?

By default, any URL with a query string is considered unique, and will redirect to a unique page (if you so wish). The query string will be added to the Destination URL, which allows you to keep your tracking codes, affiliate codes, and other important data!

Great simple plugin. Easy to use for the novice.

Have tried and used several 301 redirect plugins and this one is by far the best.

Does exactly what it says. I like the import redirects option from csv and the fact that its shows stats for how many times a redirect has been hit. Thanks!

A no fuss plugin. Fix your Google search console errors with this plugin.

Very easy to use, and it does exactly what it say it is. perfect

Wish it had subdomain support as well as 404 reporting. Link integrity checks might be a thought as well. Overall fantastic plugin for free...

  • когда нужно перенаправить одну страницу сайта (ссылку) на другую;
  • при переносе страницы, для того чтобы поисковые системы и пользователи заходили с поиска на рабочую страницу вместо нерабочей;
  • в любых случаях, когда нужно перенаправить пользователей и поисковых роботов с одного URL на другой;

Redirection.

  • в Source URL нужно указать старый URL-адрес, при переходе на который мы хотим переходить на другую страницу;
  • в Target URL указываем новый URL-адрес, на который мы будем переходить при клике на ссылку, указанную в Source URL;
  • ставим галочку в Regular expression;
Add Redirection.

Why is my Page/Post not redirecting?

FIRST — make sure it is active if using Individual Redirects (set up on the edit page for a post or page). Then, check to make sure the global option to turn off all redirects is not checked (in the plugin options).

SECOND — if you are using Quick Redirects, try using links relative to the root (so ‘http://mysite.com/contact/’ would be ‘/contact/’ if using the root path). If your site is in a sub-folder (set in Settings/General), do not use the sub-folder in the root path as it is already taken into consideration by WordPress.

NEXT — clear your site’s cache files if you are using a caching plugin/theme. You may also need to clear your browser cache and internet files if you use caching — the browser WILL hold cached versions of a page and not redirect if there was no redirect in the cached version.

FINALLY — if you are not using a permalink structure of some sort, it is recommended that you set up at least a basic one. Redirects without a permalink structure can be inconsistant.

If your page or post is still not redirecting, then it is most likely because something else like the theme functions file or another plugin is outputting the header BEFORE the plugin can perform the redirect. This can be tested by turning off all plugins except the Quick Page/Post Redirect Plugin and testing if the redirect works. many time a plugin or bad code is the culprit — or the redirect is just simply turned off.

We have tested the plugin in dozens of themes and a whole lot more plugins. In our experience, (with exception to a few bugs) many times another plugin or the theme scripting is the problem. If you do notice a problem, please let us know at [email protected] — along with the WP version, theme you are using and plugins you have installed — and we will try to troubleshoot the problem.

Should I use a full URL with http:// or https:// ?

Yes, you can, but you do not always need to. If you are redirecting to an external URL, then yes. If you are just redirecting to another page or post on your site, then no, it is not needed. When in doubt, use the entire URL. For Quick Redirects, it is recommended that you use relative URLs whenever possible.

Can I do a permanent 301 Redirect?

Yes. You can perform a 301 Permanent Redirect. Additionally, you can select a 302 Temporary or a 307 Temporary redirect or a Meta redirect. Quick Redirects are always 301 unless you override them with a filter.

Is the plugin SEO friendly?

Yes it is.
The plugin uses standard redirect status methods to redirect the URLs. SEO crawlers use the status code to determine if a page request is available, moved or if there is some other error.

If you do not want a search engine to follow a Redirect URL, use the No Follow option to add ‘rel=»nofollow»‘ to the link.

If I redirect a page that has a good Ranking in Google, will I lose that Ranking?

The answer is dependent on two things:

  1. What type of redirect it is
  2. What content is on the redirected page.

If you use a redirect of 301 AND the content on the destination URL is the same as the original page (just a different URL), then allof the ranking and ‘link juice’, as they say, will stay with the page.

If you use a redirect of 301 and the content is different, then it will be indexed and ranked accordingly, as any other page would.

If you use a 302 redirect, the search engines will not change anything, but also index the destination page as it would any other page.

Do I need to have a Page or Post Created to redirect?

No. There is a Quick Redirects feature that allows you to create a redirect for any URL on your site. This is VERY helpful when you move an old site to WordPress and have old links that need to go some place new. For example,
If you had a link on a site that went to http://yoursite.com/aboutme.html you can now redirect that to http://yoursite.com/about/ without needing to edit the htaccess file. You simply add the old URL (/aboutme.html) and tell it you want to go to the new one (/about/). Simple as that.

The functionality is located in the QUICK REDIRECTS menu. The old URL goes in the Request field and the to new URL goes in the Destination field. Simple and Quick!

Does the Page/Post need to be Published to redirect?

YES… and NO… The redirect will always work on a Published Post/Page. For it to work correctly on a Post/Page in DRAFT status, you need to fist publish the page, then re-save it as a draft. If you don’t follow that step, you will get a 404 error.

Can I add ‘rel=»nofollow» attribute to the redirect link?

YES, you can add a ‘ rel=»nofollow» ‘ attribute for the redirect link. Simply check the «add rel=nofollow» box when setting up the redirect on the page/post edit page. Note — this option is only available for the Quick Redirects method when the ‘Use jQuery?’ functionality is enabled in the settings and you select the ‘NF’ box for the corresponding redirect.

Can I make the redirect open in a new window?

YES, you can make the redirect link open in a new window. Simply check the «Open in a new window» box when setting up the individual redirect on the page/post edit page. Note — this option is only available for the Quick Redirects method when the ‘Use jQuery?’ functionality is enabled in the settings and you select the ‘NW’ box for the corresponding redirect.

I still can’t get the OPEN IN NEW WINDOW option to work… why?

First, make sure you have the ‘Use jQuery?’ option set in the options page. This funcitonality drastically increases the plugin’s ability to add the correct properties and attributes to the links to make them work as desired.

If you cannot us this option (because of a conflict with another script), then you may only have limited success with this feature.
The reason — some themes put custom links in the menu, like RSS and other similar items. Many times (an this is usually the main reason why), they do not use the WP hook to add the menu item to the list — they literally just put it there. Unless the theme uses the internal WordPress hooks to call the menu, redirects, open in a new window and rel=nofollow features just will not work.
ADDITIONALLY — Links in page/post content and Permalinks will not open in a new window or add the rel=nofollow. That is because the theme template actually sets up the links by calling «the_permalink()» function so add these elements is not consistently possible so it has been excluded from the functionality. The links will still redirect just fine but without that feature.

I want to just have the link for the redirecting page/post show the new redirect link in the link, not the old one, can I do that?

YES, you can hide the original page link and have it replaced with the redirect link. Any place the theme calls either «wp_page_links», «post_links» or «page_links» functions, the plugin can replace the original link with the new one. Simply check the «Show Redirect URL» box when setting up the redirect on the page/post edit page.

Note — This option is available for the Quick Redirects only with the ‘Use jQuery?’ option enabled.

I have Business Cards/Postcards/Ads that say my website is http://something.com/my-name/ or http://something.com/my-product/, but it should be a different page, can I set that up with this?

YES! Just set up a Quick Redirect (see above) and set the Request URL to /my-name/ or /my-product/ and the Destination URL to the place you want it to go. The destination doesn’t even need to be on the same site — it can go anywhere you want it to go!

What the heck is a 301 or 302 redirect anyway?

Good question! The number corresponds with the header code that is returned to the browser when the page is first accessed. A good page, meaning something was found, returns a 200 status code and that tells the browser to go ahead and keep loading the content for the page. If nothing is found a 404 error is returned (and we have ALL seen these — usually it is a bad link or a page was moved). There are many other types of codes, but those are the most common.

The 300+ range of codes in the header tells the browser (and search engine spider) that the original page has moved to a new location — this can be just a new file name a new folder or a completely different site.

A 301 code means that you want to tell the browser (or Google, bing, etc.) that your new page has permanently moved to a new location. This is great for search engines because it lets them know that there was a page there once, but now go to the new place to get it — and they update there old link to is so future visitors will not have to go through the same process.

A 302 or 307 code tell the browser that the file was there but TEMPORARILY it can be found at a new location. This will tell the search engines to KEEP the old link in place because SOME day it will be back at the same old link. There is only a slight difference between a 302 and a 307 status. Truth is, 302 is more widely used, so unless you know why you need a 307, stick with a 302.

So, which one do I use?

Easiest way to decide is this: If you want the page to permanently change to a new spot, use 301. If you are editing the page or post and only want it to be down for a few hours, minutes, days or weeks and plan on putting it back with the same link as before, then us 302. If you are having trouble with the redirects, use a meta redirect. The meta redirect actually starts to load the page as a 200 good status, then redirects using a meta redirect tag.

Still not sure? Try 302 for now — at least until you have a little time to read up on the subject.

If I have a redirect in place, can I view the original page during testing?

Yes, use the URL as normal, and add ?action=no-redirect to the query data (or &action=no-redirect if there is already query data present).

For example. If you set up a redirect for the page http://mysite.com/old-page/ and you want to see the page (and not have it redirect on you so you can look at it), type the URL as http://mysite.com/old-page/?action=no-redirect and it will load like there is no redirect present.

That’s all the FAQs you have?
